Comprehensive Exam: Aptly Named
Any exam that we call “comprehensive” has to earn that name, and this eye exam certainly does. Our comprehensive examination of your eyes takes everything into account. Yes, we check to see if you need eyeglasses, contacts or the like. On top of that, we also check your overall eye health as well. If there are any problems with your eyesight, we can find them and hopefully solve them before they get much worse. This type of eye exam can let you know if anything’s wrong, as well as how we can fix it.
“But My Vision’s Fine”
When we talk to potential clients about eye exams, they often say something like that. However, our eye exams, especially the ones that are comprehensive in nature, check out far more than just the quality of your eyesight. Sure, we see if you have 20/20 vision or less. But, on top of that, we check for all kinds of other issues. We can check for glaucoma, we can check for hyperopia, myopia and other problems. Some of these problems or symptoms of these issues may surface or be evident in your day-to-day life.
However, some people will not experience any symptoms until it’s too late. An eye exam can check for any of the signs leading to the detection of eye health issues. Instead of trying to check your own eye health and try to determine the signs for yourself, our medical professionals can check your eyes thoroughly and completely. That way, if there are problems, we can hopefully fix the issues before your eyes get worse. That’s what preventative eye care can do.
Right Exam, Right Prescription
Many of our patients already have corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses or something similar. When you have those, it’s more important than ever to get your eyes checked annually. Your eyes can change, and thus your prescription can change along with them. By getting an eye exam routinely, you can make sure that you have the best vision possible. Instead of waiting for your vision to get worse and then go to an optometry professional, get your eyes checked regularly before something goes wrong. That way, you never have to deal with decreased vision.
Often, we know when something’s wrong with our body through pain. You trip and fall, your legs or hands hurt. You prick your finger, you feel the pain. Something falls on your head, the pain receptors in your head let you know about it. When something hurts, we try to relieve it by taking medicine, going to see a medical professional, or just being more careful. The pain lets us know that we have to take some action to feel better.
That works with just about all of the parts of our body except our eyes. There aren’t pain receptors on the inside of our eyes. So, something can be wrong, problems can be escalating, and yet, we may not know about it because it doesn’t affect our eyesight at the moment. Just because your vision is clear and perfect doesn’t mean that your eyes are problem-free. This is the importance of getting your eyes checked regularly … we can find problems even when you might not be aware of them.
Better Eye Exams for Better Living
An eye exam can detect problems with your eyes before they affect your life. This is more crucial than ever, particularly for those of us living here in Southern California. It might be a bit of a stereotype and a cliché, but many of us spend a good chunk of our lives on the road, in front of a computer, on our phones or some other kind of screen or device. Good vision is critical to living our lives in the manner we’re accustomed to. Even having worse vision (if only for a brief period of time) can be a serious problem. By getting your eyes checked often by medical professionals, you can make sure that your eyes will be in as good of shape as possible.
At Ottica, our comprehensive test is designed to test for everything. That means that unlike our other tests when you opt for this one we don’t hold anything back. If there’s something we can check your eyes for, we will. That way, both you and your medical professional will have the most information possible. From there, we can put together a custom, individualized plan to take care of all of your visual health needs and more.
So, when you come in for our comprehensive test, we’ll check your visual acuity. That means that we’ll use the chart to see how small of a print you can read. Everything that you would expect from the Standard Test is included here: covering one eye and reading, a thorough examination for color blindness, and so forth. Unlike the Standard Test, though, that is just the beginning.
We’ll check the quick and smooth eye movements as well. By determining how well your eyes can fixate on two separate objects or track a moving one, we’ll learn quite a bit about the health of your eyes. Of course, these tests aren’t some kind of “pass” or “fail” thing. Instead, we’re trying to get the most accurate information possible about your eyes. Armed with all of that, we’ll be able to determine the best prescription for your visual health.
The Right Kind of Eye Wear for Eye Repair Skin Care
This test can determine whether or not you need eyeglasses and contact lenses. Of course, should you not need either of them, we’ll be sure to let you know. However, if you do, we can use this test to find the right fit. In this context, the word “fit” means many things. It refers tohow the eyeglasses fit your face, as well as how the contact lenses will fit your eyes. Through all of this testing, we can determine what’s right for you and your body. That way, when you walk out of Ottica, you’ll have the vision that you want at a price you can afford.
We strongly believe that everyone who wants to have great vision should be able to get it. That’s why we have several financing plans available. You shouldn’t have to suffer with blurry vision because of your bank account. So, when you contact us, we’ll lay out our payment plans. We’ve helped so many to get the vision and eye health that they deserve.
Just as everyone is different, so too are their eyes. What works for one person and their eyesight won’t work for the next. That’s what this comprehensive test does: it finds everything that could be wrong with your eyes. From there, our professionals are able to put together a prescription plan and more that can meet all of your needs. This eye exam is just one of the ways that we can help our patients and clients. There are many other treatments available, for your eyes, face and more. To schedule a free consultation and see all of the ways that we can help, give Ottica a call at (310) 873-6141.
